Introduction
You are now the owner of the fastest electric ice auger
drive in the world. This drive unit has
features that other drives only wish they had:
·
Light weight aluminum output shaft parallel to motor
shaft supported by large (20mm 6004) low friction ball bearing.
·
Single stage high speed high torque gear reduction.
·
Powerful PMDC
500 watt 24 volt motor.
·
Higher speed – approximately
357 rpm at the cutting edge for the Icegator Attacker.
·
Integral forward-off-reverse switch with instant
magnetic breaking.
·
Reverse feature allows for back flushing the ice slush
that remains after drilling, out of away from and under the ice hole.
·
24 volt lead acid battery pack that can be charged on
or off of the drive.
·
Handles are CNC
machined out of ¾” HDPE plastic making for an indestructible handle.
There is much more information regarding assembly,
operation, customer service and our limited warranty, but most important by far is the following section.
WARNINGS:

1.

The Icegator drive is to be used on any 8”
or smaller ice auger drill bit ONLY. If you use this on a drill bit larger it
may damage the drive, and void you warrantee.
|
|
2.
|
Use this implement ONLY for cutting holes
in ice. It is not designed for any
other use.
|
|
3.
|
Use the Icegator 8” Part # 001-002 for 8”
ice augers or smaller only. Cutting head cover should remain on the cutting
head whenever you are not drilling or changing the cutting blades.
|
|
4.
|
Do not allow body, loose clothing.
Drawstrings. Scarves. Hats or other materials to come in contact with the
power head or auger (drill) unit at anytime.
|
|
5.
|
Always test the braking system of your
Icegator drive before initial use, that the drive will stop immediately after
release of both forward and reverse buttons.
|
|
6.
|
Use only authentic replacement parts from
Icegator, LLC.
|
|
7.
|
Any alteration of your Icegator drive will
void the warranty.
|
|
|
8.
|
Do not allow children weighing less than
100 Lbs. To operate this equipment.
|
|
|
9.
|
Do not continue to use this product in the
event of mechanical or electrical failure.
|
|
|
10.
|
Check the tightness of screws, nuts, and
bolts at regular intervals and re-tighten if necessary.
|
|
|
11.
|
This product produces considerable cutting
force that is felt by the operator. Make sure your feet are firmly planted
and that the handles are held firmly while operating your Icegator ice auger.
|
|
|
12.
|
By wearing cleated or spiked boots, or ice
creepers when using your Icegator drive, you will find it easier to control
the rotational torque as you drill holes through the ice and power clean the
hole.
|
|
|
13.
|
Do not lend or rent you Icegator drive
without providing the user with the owner’s manual. Be sure that anyone who
uses your Icegator understands the information contained in this manual.
|
|
|
14.
|
Give your complete and undivided attention
to the proper operation of your Icegator drive. To operate it properly, you
must be in good physical condition, mental health, and not under the
influence of any substance which might impair vision, dexterity, or judgment.
Examples: Alcohol, prescription, non-prescription or illegal drugs, etc.

|
|

Using your Icegator drive may be
strenuous. If you have any condition that may be aggravated by strenuous
activity, check with you family physician before operating your Icegator
drive
|

|

|
When transporting you Icegator drive
properly secure it to prevent turnover, and damage.

First unpack everything from the box, You should have

One adaptor shaft for Hand auger, along with bolt

Note: Your
Icegator has been pre charged before shipping. We recommend you charge the unit
before first use.

Assembly of drive unit
The drive unit will fit to
any of these gas auger bits & can be fitted to any of these hand augers
with the proper hand auger adaptor shaft.

For Gas powered bits only
1. Make sure
blade cover is on the auger bit
2. First remove
the gas bit from your gas power drive.
3. The bit should mount directly on to the
Icegator drive. Now put the bolt that was with the gas drive back on and
tighten.
Hand augers
1. To adapt with your hand auger just
remove the handle from you hand auger and install the adaptor shaft to the hand
auger. Note: do not use the wing nut
that came with your hand auger replace it with the Allen bolt supplied. You’re
now ready to attach the other end to the Icegator drive with the bolt supplied.
Battery pack
1. Your drive comes with a removable
battery pack that is already installed. it will need to be charged before
initial use.
2. To remove the battery pack first make
sure the pack is unplugged. Then just simply remove the two thumb screws that
hold the pack in place, the pack should just pull off.
Charging
1. To charge the battery pack just simply
unplug the pack and, plug the 24volt charger into the pack, then plug the
charger into any 110 outlet.
2. Charging time with a dead battery
should be around 2.5 hours
3. always charge the battery pack after
every use, no matter how drained it is.
4. Make sure to charge the battery pack at
least every 45 days. Leaving the battery pack stored for more than 45 days may
damage the battery pack
5. You can run your Icegator on 12 volts
by simply removing the battery pack and using the Icegator 12volt cord (sold
separately) Note: only use the 12
volt cord with a 12 volt deep cycle marine battery
You are now ready for operation.
Remove the cutting head cover only after assembly is
complete. Plant your feet firmly, with
the auger resting vertically on the point directly in front of you. Prepare yourself for the initial torque at
startup and depress the forward button.
Do not press down on the auger—the weight of the auger is sufficient to
achieve the desired drilling effect.
Pressing down on the auger may cause damage to the mechanism. Be
prepared for the brake through at the bottom of the ice, at the second of the
breakthrough let off the button and the drive will stop instantly WARNING
If the drive does not stop (the brake has failed. And will need to be
returned to Icegator, LLC for
repairs)

Warranty Information
LIMITED WARRANTY
Icegator, LLC,
1274 St. Rt. 249 Edgerton Ohio, provides the following LIMITED WARRANTY on its
products to the purchaser of these products and to any person to who such
products are transferred during the duration of this warranty.
The warrantor’s
obligation shall be limited to repairing or replacing at the above address, any
part or parts shall within a ONE YEAR period hereinafter specified to be
returned to them with transportation prepaid and upon examination by Pavati
Manufacturing LLC shows to have been defective. This warranty shall NOT APPLY
1. The
product has been altered; repaired or modified outside the warrantor’s place of
business in anyway that would adversely affect its operation.
2. The
product has been subjected to misuse or damage while in the possession of the
purchaser or was operated and used other than in accordance with manufacture’s
operation instructions.
3. The product failure is attributed to damage
which is the sole responsibility of the user.
The one year
limited warranty period shall commence with the date the product is sold to the
purchaser by dealer, or if this date cannot be established, the date the
product was sold by Icegator, LLC to the dealer.
The implied
warranties of merchantability and fitness for particular purposes are limited
to the duration of this WARRANTY-ONE YEAR- AFTER said one year Icegator, LLC
expressible disclaims and warranty or merchantability or fitness for any
particular purpose
Purchase or other
acceptance of the product by the claimant shall be on the condition and agreement
that Icegator, LLC shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages
of any product
Some states do
not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or do not allow the
exclusion or limitations of accidental or consequential damages, so the above
limitation or exclusions may not apply to you
To make claim
under this warranty write or call directly to Icegator, LLC the above address
for a warranty return authorization. Icegator, LLC will make every effort to
return or replace the product if found to be defective within the terms of this
warranty within 30 days after receipt of the product.
NOTE: This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also
have other rights which very from stat to state.
